Being a mama takes all your mental and physical energy, literally. If you’re not up bouncing your baby because that’s the only way she’ll fall asleep (Zayla I’m talking to you). You’re up changing her, cleaning spit up, taking care of the house .... I could go on but we’d be here all day.
That’s why it is so so so important for you to be alone for at least one hour every day! I can’t stress this enough! When I first had Zay for some reason I thought I had to be by her side 24:7. I thought I’m a mom, I can’t shower for over 5 minutes I have to (insert a million tasks here). But then one day I had a shower... a long hot shower, with essential oil.
(An hour guys please remember I had not been alone for this long in what felt like years). It literally changed my life. I felt reenergized, calm, and like I could continue my day without feeling like a zombie.
I came to the realization that in order for me to be the best mom I can be I need to take care of myself. So every day while Zay sleeps I make sure I have at least an hour to myself, to do the things I love, like read, yoga, or watch Jane the Virgin LOL.
If you’re a mom please please please try to take an hour to yourself everyday! You need it and you’ll be a better mom for it. Trust me.
